You May Be Wondering…
Why Am I So Giddy?
I'm a Pastry Chef and the Chef/Owner of The Giddy Chick, a small event catering company based in the Asheville, North Carolina area. I'm also a food blogger, an Airbnb Superhost, a crafter, a renovator, and an unapologetic food lover. I love it all — and it's safe to say I'm giddy about what I do.
My Journey
A lifetime ago, I entered a Passionate Chef contest in Chicago. I signed up on a Tuesday, cooked a three-course menu for the judges on Wednesday, and walked away with a scholarship to the Culinary Institute of America by Friday. In one short week, my life changed — proof that you just never know what life will hand you.
At the CIA, I focused on Pastry and completed my internship under a renowned Pastry Chef at the Ritz-Carlton Chicago. After graduation, I moved to New York City and worked at standout venues like Gramercy Tavern, Bouley, and the Marquis in Times Square. New York gave me the chance to cook at the James Beard House and contribute to countless celebrity dinners and events — an experience I'll always treasure.
My career eventually brought me back to Chicago, a city I love, where I spent many years as Executive Pastry Chef at a large hotel on the Magnificent Mile. Then came the opportunity I couldn't pass up: Pastry Chef at the Inn on Biltmore Estate in Asheville. Creating desserts for guests of one of America's most beloved estates was a true joy.
Time to Get Giddy
Like many chefs before me, I was ready to strike out on my own — and in 2022, The Giddy Chick was born. With more than 22 years of experience behind me, sharing my passion and love of food with others is what I get up for every day. Whether I'm crafting a wedding cake, catering an intimate gathering in Arden, or pulling together a special event in the wider Western North Carolina area, there's always something to get giddy about.
Thanks for stopping by — I can't wait to cook for you.
